Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership includes the Northwood Pulp Mill, the Prince George Pulp and Paper Mill, the Intercontinental Pulp Mill and the Pulp and Paper Marketing Group in Vancouver.

 

The Inventory and Purchasing Team Leader is responsible for the strategic procurement and management of materials and services for CPLP’s facilities.

 

Specific Duties:

·         Develop sound procurement strategies in consideration of business objectives, market conditions, economic trends, risk, quality and availability of supply.

·         Oversee the Strategic Commodity Approval Process (SCAP), Request for Proposals (RFP), contract negotiation and award process.

·         Oversee Stores Operations and Inventory Management by providing direction and leadership to the Stores Supervisors, Buyers, and Analysts.

·         Ensure leading edge materials management concepts, procurement strategies, and vendor partnerships are implemented for major commodities and services that result in the delivery of a strategic competitive advantage.

·         Implement industry-leading materials management concepts into Stores and Inventory systems as well as operations.

·         Coach Inventory and Purchasing staff in the development of business goals, performance measurements, policies, procedures and career development.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain management or a related field and near completion of the C.P.P. designation.
  • Five or more years experience in a senior supply chain position in Pulp and Paper or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and composition of supply and services contracts.
  • Extensive experience in inventory and warehouse management as it relates to efficiency, risk, reliability, capital spares, repairables and asset management.
  • A proven track record in leadership including safety, business improvement, strategic planning and performance management.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.  A broad understanding of Maintenance Management systems and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent team building, change management and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
