Fully Bleached Kraft Pulps from our Interior Mills

Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership operates three mills in Prince George, the geographic center of British Columbia. The mills, known as Northwood, Intercontinental and Prince George are operated under common management, share a common chip furnish, and the Environmental and Quality Management Systems are registered to the ISO 9001(quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) standards.

Our fibre supply is a blend of white spruce (Picea glauca), lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) and alpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa). The majority of this supply is the residual material from local sawmills. Due to the climatic conditions in the region - long cold winters and relatively short dry summers - these species naturally develop long, slender and thin-walled fibres. These fibre properties result in pulp that not only has excellent tensile strength properties, but also offer superior wet web reinforcement and sheet dimensional stability.

All of our mills have highly sophisticated distributed control systems, continuous digesters, and modern bleaching and screening systems. Bleaching is done with chlorine dioxide, oxygen and hydrogen peroxide resulting in environmentally superior enhanced ECF pulps.
